Company: Altar.io is a custom product and software development house focused on client success. We're a software house that wants its clients (early-stage startups, entrepreneurs) to thrive. We help entrepreneurs and business leaders build and launch innovative custom software solutions, specializing in a lean, user-centric approach, MVP building, dedicated teams, and AI enablement. Team size is ~50 total, ~20 developers.

Role: Seeking Mid-level and Senior Fullstack Engineers to join our fully remote team based in Portugal. You will work across the entire stack on diverse projects for early-stage startups and entrepreneurs, developing both user-facing features (React/Angular) and backend services (Node.js/Express, MongoDB/PostgreSQL). Our focus is on understanding business needs deeply to deliver impactful end-to-end software solutions. Visits to our Lisbon office are entirely voluntary.

Responsibilities:
- Develop responsive and engaging user-facing features using modern frontend frameworks like React or Angular.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using Node.js/Express.
- Implement and manage databases, primarily MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Develop, test, and integrate RESTful APIs.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, and other engineers in an agile environment.
- Contribute actively to the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability across the full stack.

Technical Skills Required:
- Proven experience as a Fullstack Engineer (Mid or Senior level).
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and the Express framework for backend development.
- Strong proficiency in either React or Angular for frontend development.
- Solid experience with NoSQL (MongoDB) and/or relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Good understanding of RESTful API design, development, and consumption.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
