About The Role: We are hiring multiple Software Development Engineers (SDEs) at the L5 level to work on distributed system performance. The ideal candidate should have experience in diagnosing performance bottlenecks, optimizing cloud workloads, reducing infrastructure costs, and improving system efficiency.
What You’ll Do / Responsibilities:
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
- Optimize cloud workloads for better performance and cost efficiency.
- Reduce infrastructure costs while maintaining or improving system performance.
- Improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement solutions to enhance system performance.
- Monitor system metrics and identify potential issues before they impact customers.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in distributed systems and cloud computing.
What You’ll Bring / Requirements / Qualifications:
- Proven experience in distributed system performance.
- Strong problem-solving and detective skills.
- Experience in diagnosing performance bottlenecks.
- Experience in optimizing cloud workloads.
- Experience in reducing infrastructure costs.
- Experience in improving system efficiency.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and AWS services.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or C++.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in cloud or distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Compensation: The estimated pay range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Amazon’s equity plan.
