About Ambient: Ambient is an innovative cryptocurrency network built on a Proof of Work (PoW) model that leverages machine intelligence. We incentivize nodes to perform inference, fine-tuning, and pre-training on a single large language model (LLM) with over 600 billion parameters. Ambient replaces Bitcoin by providing a decentralized and open-source alternative where the economy is denominated in machine intelligence.\n\nResponsibilities:\n- Lead cutting-edge research in distributed training frameworks and large language model optimization\n- Design and implement novel approaches to distributed training and inference at massive scale\n- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate research into production-ready systems\n- Publish findings and contribute to the open-source AI community\n- Stay at the forefront of technology advancements in distributed training and large language models\n- Gather insights into customer needs and incorporate them into technical decision-making for training strategies\n\nRequirements:\n- Proven experience leading complex AI/ML efforts focused on distributed training and optimization\n- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to align stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams\n- A track record of contributing to long-term technical roadmaps and making thoughtful system-level tradeoffs\n- At least 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, with strong expertise in distributed training frameworks\n- Deep expertise in machine learning, particularly in large language models and distributed systems\n- Experience with scaling AI models to trillion-parameter runs in distributed environments\n- Strong publication record in AI/ML research\n\nCompensation: The estimated pay range for this role is $180,000 - $240,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Ambient's equity plan.
