Company: AO Labs is an applied AI research lab building real-time reinforcement learning using continuously trainable, compute-efficient weightless neural networks (WNNs). We aim to unlock hyper-personalized AI with less data than traditional LLMs, creating models that learn continuously like humans do. Our first product is an API enabling fast, per-user learning loops at the edge.

Role: We are seeking Applied Researchers to lead the exploration and development of our core real-time reinforcement learning and WNN technologies. Responsibilities include designing novel algorithms, conducting experiments (inspired by areas like our MNIST, LLM+WNN hybrid, and ARC-AGI challenge work), publishing findings, and collaborating closely with the engineering team to translate research into product capabilities. You will tackle fundamental challenges in continuous learning, data efficiency, and model personalization.

Ideal Candidate: Holds an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, AI, ML, or a related field with a strong research publication record. Deep expertise in Reinforcement Learning is essential. Experience with novel neural network architectures (like WNNs or similar), online learning, or information theory is a significant plus. You should be driven by scientific curiosity, possess strong analytical and prototyping skills (Python, ML frameworks), and be adept at communicating complex ideas clearly.
