AutoPallet Robotics (YC S24) is building novel robots for case picking in warehouses, a huge unsolved automation opportunity for a very labor-intensive, critically important and sh*tty human job in the thin-margin industry of logistics. We are developing cutting-edge hardware and software solutions with rapid iteration cycles.

We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our team in San Francisco and help build our novel robots.

Responsibilities:
* Design, build, integrate, and test mechanical and electrical components and subsystems for robotic systems.
* Work on system integration, bringing together hardware (sensors, actuators, structure) and software components.
* Collaborate with software and ML engineers to ensure hardware meets system requirements.
* Participate in rapid prototyping and iteration cycles.
* Troubleshoot and solve challenging hardware and system-level problems.

Technical Skills Required:
* Strong foundation in mechanical engineering (CAD, FEA, DFM) and electrical engineering (PCB design, wiring, power systems).
* Hands-on experience building and testing robotic or mechatronic systems.
* Experience with sensor integration (cameras, LiDAR, force sensors, etc.) and actuators (motors, drivers).
* Familiarity with embedded systems and control theory is a plus.
* Proficiency with relevant design and simulation tools.
