Research Engineer

**About Beam:** Beam is an ultrafast AI inference platform. We built a serverless runtime that launches GPU-backed containers in less than 1 second and quickly scales out to thousands of GPUs. Developers use our platform to serve apps to millions of users around the globe.

**About The Role:** We are seeking a Research Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will conduct cutting-edge research and prototype new technologies to improve our platform. You will work on solving complex problems in distributed systems, machine learning, and GPU computing. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on our product while advancing the state of the art in these fields.

**Key Responsibilities:**
* Conduct research on new technologies and algorithms

**Required Skills:**
* PhD or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* Strong background in distributed systems and parallel computing
* Experience with GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL)
* Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
* Understanding of machine learning and AI concepts
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills

**Compensation:** The estimated pay range for this role is $103,000 - $155,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Beam's equity plan.
