Platform DevEx Engineer

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is searching for a Platform DevEx Engineer to join our team supporting the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). This role involves building and maintaining tools that enable developers to create, deploy, and manage high-quality software compliant with Federal standards. You will work on GitLab CI pipelines, Python applications, Kubernetes configurations, and documentation for DevEx platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong coding fluency in languages like Python or C++, experience with Linux systems, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization. This position offers a competitive salary range of $115,000 - $150,000 and the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment at NCBI in Bethesda, Maryland or remotely.

Key responsibilities include:

• Configuring GitLab CI pipelines for standardized development environments
• Developing Python-based tools for build and deployment processes
• Creating Kubernetes templates using YTT for consistent deployments
• Debugging and optimizing deployment pipelines on platforms like OpenShift
• Maintaining documentation for DevEx tools and platforms
