Senior Platform DevEx Engineer

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is seeking a Senior Platform DevEx Engineer to support NCBI. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of DevEx tools and systems that enable developers to build, deploy, and maintain secure applications. You will have extensive experience with GitLab CI/CD, Python, and Kubernetes configuration.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the development of standardized project setup tools
• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for multiple languages
• Creating Kubernetes templates for multi-tenant deployments
• Debugging complex deployments across Kubernetes distributions
• Managing documentation for DevEx platforms and tools
• Mentoring junior engineers on best practices

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in software development or DevOps infrastructure
• Strong coding skills in Python, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, Kotlin, or Scala
• Expertise in Linux systems, observability tools, and GitLab CI/CD
• Familiarity with container orchestration and Service Mesh technologies
• Experience with high-availability systems and multi-tenant environments
