Blue Origin is developing reusable space technology, including the New Glenn rocket, the Blue Moon lunar lander, and the Orbital Reef space station, with the mission to enable millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. This role is within the Enterprise Technology (ET) organization, specifically focusing on supply chain and manufacturing technology, developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space. As a Software Engineer III, you will apply your expertise to applications supporting engineering design, manufacturing test, and flight operations. Responsibilities include working under guidance to develop expertise in these domains, participating in the design and development of software systems and infrastructure using Java, Python, and JavaScript, implementing web user interfaces using frameworks like Angular and React with supervision, assisting in evaluating, integrating, and extending commercial products using GraphQL, REST web services, and message queues, communicating ideas effectively, creating basic proof-of-concept code, participating in code reviews, contributing to the maintenance and improvement of existing software systems, designing, coding, testing and deploying new features using CI/CD best practices, working with UX designers, selecting appropriate libraries, providing operational support, and integrating custom software with third-party systems. Minimum qualifications include 3+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in at least one typed language (e.g., Java or C) and one untyped language (e.g., Python or JavaScript), basic understanding of CS fundamentals, ability to write efficient code from clear requirements, good communication skills, and the ability to earn trust in a team setting. Preferred qualifications include basic experience in manufacturing/aerospace, general knowledge of cybersecurity, experience with HTML/CSS/React, exposure to deploying distributed systems (Git, Docker, Kubernetes), a Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or related field, and experience with Java, microservices, CI/CD, full-stack web dev, TypeScript/Angular, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j), and manufacturing software/processes. Passion for space exploration required. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
