**About Blueberry Pediatrics:** Blueberry Pediatrics' mission is to turn every family's living room into a pediatric urgent care. By combining at-home diagnostic kits with concierge-like access to board-certified pediatricians 24/7, we make top-quality pediatric care affordable and immediately accessible. We believe every child deserves the best healthcare. We are a fast-growing, mission-driven company focused on improving health outcomes and reducing medical costs. Delivering affordable, high-quality healthcare requires engineering ingenuity, leadership committed to prioritizing patient outcomes over short-term profits, and an exceptional product team. Learn more about our values at https://engineering.blueberrypediatrics.blog/ **About the Role:** As a Full-stack Senior Engineer, you will build technology connecting parents with pediatricians through our parent-facing experience and physician platform. Both are written in Django and Hotwire (an HTMX-like framework). You'll work closely with product managers and collaborate across functions (physician team, marketing). Examples of recent projects include: * Developing an eardrum detection model (Pytorch/Sklearn) to streamline triage. * Adding screeners for tracking developmental milestones. * Building algorithms to flag at-risk children for priority care. * Integrating WebRTC into our in-house EMR for improved call reliability. * Rewriting our React Native parent app in Hotwire (Flutter also used). **Responsibilities:** * Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack features for our parent and physician platforms. * Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to bring features to life. * Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the stack (HTML, Python/Django, SQL, potentially Flutter). * Optimize application performance and database queries. * Own projects from conception through production and maintenance. * Proactively identify and fix bugs, contribute to documentation, and advocate for addressing tech debt. * Use data to validate assumptions and measure the impact of your work. **Technical Skills:** * Strong experience with full-stack web development. * Proficiency in MVC frameworks like Django (preferred) or Ruby on Rails. * Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience with Hotwire/HTMX or similar frameworks is a plus. * Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and SQL optimization. * Familiarity with Python. * Experience with mobile development (Flutter) is a plus. * Experience with ML libraries (Pytorch, Sklearn) is a plus. * Knowledge of deployment infrastructure and CI/CD practices. **Ideal Candidate:** * You are a strong full-stack generalist who enjoys mastering every layer of the stack. * You deeply understand the products you work on, starting with business objectives and translating them into technical solutions. * You are pragmatic, knowing when to prioritize speed versus scalability. * You seek simple, maintainable solutions and value impact over complexity. * You are energized by autonomy and have a track record of being a "Manager of One". * You have excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic. * You are curious and eager to learn new technologies and domains. * You communicate effectively and collaborate well with others. * Experience in healthcare or telehealth is a plus, but not required. Compensation ranges from $135,000 to $170,000, dependent on location and experience, plus equity. Benefits include 401k match, annual offsites, 4 weeks PTO, $300 office stipend, and more.
