**About The Role:** As a Software Engineer II at Blue Origin, you will be part of a small, passionate team in the Blue Origin Engines business unit, focused on the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. You will support the development of best-in-class software applications that drive increased efficiency for program execution. Your work will directly impact safe human spaceflight and contribute to the company's mission of enabling humanity to expand into space.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop full stack web applications to visualize inventory and production data
- Create front-end GUIs and back-end APIs using modern frameworks
- Write code in multiple languages including JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, React, Next.js, CSS, and MaterialUI
- Design and implement efficient database schemas (both normalized and NoSQL)
- Write REST, SQL, and GraphQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data
- Create Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) jobs to process data from source systems
- Implement security best practices such as API authentication with SAML and OAuth
- Work directly with internal customers and subject-matter-experts to gather requirements and continuously improve software
- Collaborate with other Blue Origin business units to facilitate cross-department harmony
- Strive to continuously improve development and deployment processes
- Maintain responsibility for the uptime and reliability of software applications
- Document code architectures and ensure business continuity

**Required Skills & Ideal Candidate:**
- Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience with 2-5 years of development experience
- Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, Next.js, MaterialUI
- Experience with back-end development: Node.js, server-side frameworks (Next.js, etc.), REST APIs
- Database expertise: Writing complex SQL queries, designing normalized schemas
- DevOps skills: Deploying to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), Git for version control
- Understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Ability to balance quick development with minimal technical debt
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Passion for space exploration and Blue Origin's mission
- US citizenship, national, permanent resident, or refugee/asylum status
