Founding Engineer

Broadn is an early-stage company revolutionizing how manufacturers handle configuration, pricing, and quoting for industrial products. We are building an AI-powered platform that automates the sales process for manufacturing teams, turning unstructured emails and RFQs into accurate, ERP-ready quotes. Our mission is to help manufacturers scale without hiring, by empowering our AI agent to handle the bulk of the quoting work.

We are seeking a Founding Engineer to join our core team. This is a critical role that requires a deep curiosity, a full-stack development skillset, and the ability to own and solve complex problems across the entire stack, from the frontend user interface to the backend infrastructure and beyond.

Our ideal candidate is a problem solver with a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, and the ability to write minimal, efficient code. You will be hands-on, leading the technical vision and execution for our product. We expect you to have production environment experience, the ability to lead with curiosity, and great communication skills.

The role is on-site in NYC and requires US citizenship due to the nature of our work.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop full-stack applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js. You’ll be responsible for building the core features of our platform, including the AI agent, the quoting engine, and the integration with various ERPs and CRMs.
• Work on optimizing our backend services for performance and scalability, ensuring they can handle high-volume data processing.
• Contribute to the frontend development using React and Vite, creating intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
• Collaborate with our team to define the product roadmap and implement innovative solutions for configuration, pricing, and quoting.
• Ensure the security and reliability of our systems, especially given our use of cloud infrastructure and multi-datacentre deployments.
• Mentor and guide other team members as we continue to grow.

What You’ll Bring:

• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript for both backend and frontend development.
• Experience with Node.js, and any other languages like Python, Java, Scala, Rust, Go, C#, or C/C++.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, including their GovCloud offerings.
• Knowledge of frontend frameworks like React and Vite.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and functional programming paradigms.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, with the ability to write efficient code.
• Experience with development tooling: Bash, Git, Docker, Linux environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• A track record of writing minimal, elegant code that solves problems efficiently.
