**About The Role:** As a Backend Developer at Cactus, you will design and implement server-side logic, databases, and APIs for our healthcare clients. You will work closely with frontend developers and product managers to build scalable and reliable systems.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs.
- Write and optimize database queries.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Monitor and improve system performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues.
- Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FHIR).
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define project scope.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Proficiency in server-side programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js).
- Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Knowledge of API design and RESTful principles.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Familiarity with security best practices for backend systems.
- Knowledge of healthcare standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FHIR).

**Compensation:**
The estimated pay range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Cactus's equity plan.
