Cephla is accelerating discoveries and solutions by making open and scalable bespoke microscopes available and accessible for life science research and healthcare. We started in summer 2023, have strong revenue & growth, and are actively working towards self-driving labs using our automated microscopy platforms like Squid and Octopi. Our products are used for Bioluminescence, High Content Screening, Live Cell Imaging, Tracking Microscopy, Spatial Transcriptomics, and Microarrays.

Role Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in person in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will drive software development for our automated microscope systems, contributing significantly to product features, scalability, and reliability. You will work on software controlling hardware, data acquisition, image processing, user interfaces, and potentially elements of our 'self-driving lab' initiative leveraging automation and potentially AI/ML. You will play a key part in defining software architecture and helping the company scale its software capabilities and team.

Ideal Candidate:
We seek experienced software engineers with a strong background in building robust and scalable software systems. Experience with hardware control, scientific computing, image analysis, data management, or building systems for scientific instrumentation is highly desirable. Proficiency in languages like Python or C++ is beneficial given the domain. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, taking ownership of projects, and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers.
