Company: Charge Robotics Charge Robotics is a YC-backed, Series-A startup building robots that build large-scale solar farms. Demand for new solar projects is booming, but construction companies can't keep up due to limited labor resources. We're addressing this bottleneck to speed up the world's transition to renewables. We are MIT-founded and backed by top investors. Join our fast-moving team for significant impact, equity, and the chance to work with giant robots for climate impact. Role: Senior Robotics Software Engineer As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Charge Robotics, your work will directly contribute to deploying gigawatts of clean power generation. You will be a key contributor, helping bring our next generation of mobile solar factory to life. Responsibilities: * Architecting the software foundation, developing, and maintaining high-quality code and documentation for a robotic system on our automated delivery vehicle. * Designing robust, low-level software with emphasis on correctness and safety. * Controlling industrial automation hardware including linear actuators, motor controllers, and hydraulic systems. Ideal Candidate: * You are an experienced Python developer, probably also familiar with some lower-level languages. * You are obsessed with writing correct code. * You are excited to work with low-level hardware. * You know how to write software as a member of a team, including writing clean code, documenting it, testing it, and using version control (Git) and CI. * You have an advanced understanding of algorithms and data structures. * You have excellent written communication skills. * You are based in or can relocate to the SF bay area. * You are excited to see your work deployed onto actual solar farms and gain satisfaction from personally playing a part in mitigating climate change. Nice to Have: * At least a 4-year degree in CS or similar. * Know how to instrument and develop highly performant code. * Experience with Machine Learning.
