About The Role: We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Acquisition Team. This team is responsible for connecting with third-party auction houses, dealers, and venues to bring their inventory into our system and perform additional enrichment to build our extensive database of over a million classic cars. This is a mission-critical role that directly impacts our ability to provide accurate and comprehensive data to our users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Debugging, maintaining, and improving existing Python-based crawlers and ingestion pipelines
• Designing and building new data acquisition tools and features
• Collaborating with product and engineering teams to prioritize improvements
• Identifying opportunities to expand and enrich our dataset
• Ensuring the reliability and performance of data ingestion processes

Required Skills and Ideal Candidate:

• Proficiency with Python, especially for writing web crawlers and automation scripts
• Familiarity with databases (both relational PostgreSQL and NoSQL MongoDB)
• Strong commitment to writing clean, readable, maintainable code
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
• Self-starter attitude with ownership and a willingness to learn
• Experience with Scrapy or similar web crawling frameworks is highly desirable
• Experience with AWS (particularly Lambda) is a plus
• Interest or expertise in automotive data or classic cars is a major plus
