Role: Software Engineering Lead, Backend (Java) (NYC)
We are looking for a Software Engineering Lead to manage and guide a team of backend Java engineers in New York City. You will be responsible for the team's delivery, technical direction, and people management, ensuring the successful development and operation of critical backend services. This role requires working onsite 5 days a week in our NYC office.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of backend engineers (hiring, performance management, career development).
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of backend services built with Java.
- Ensure team follows best practices for software development, quality, and security.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering leads.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for the team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.

Technical Skills:
- Strong background in backend development, particularly with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Proven experience leading or managing software engineering teams.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
