Software Engineer, Backend - Financial Products

CloudTrucks is a virtual trucking carrier building the operating system for trucking, helping drivers make more money, safely and efficiently. We are a very well funded, Series A startup with solid growth.

The vision of the financial products team is to empower truck drivers to run sustainable, profitable businesses through better financial tooling. Our team is responsible for the money movement at CloudTrucks. This includes user-facing products like our CT Cash Visa card, internal tooling, and third party financial partnerships.

Examples of projects:
- Partner with 3rd party companies to design and integrate a fuel rewards program.
- Integrate our financial products with core operating workflows across other product teams for a fully embedded fintech experience.
- Build an immutable financial ledger infrastructure.
- Launch banking and lending products.
- Work with fraud and risk teams on anomaly detection and automated risk management.

Responsibilities:
- Work on our financial infrastructure, responsible for all money movement on the platform.
- Design, test, ship, and maintain solutions to original fintech problems and products.
- Take complete ownership over projects and features across a range of systems and technologies.
- Partner with cross functional teams (Product, Operations, Finance, etc.).
- Help set and improve our engineering processes, standards, and tooling.

What we are looking for:
- Strong technical background, including 3+ years of industry experience as a software engineer working on production systems.
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ships robustly designed and well tested code.
- Takes a user-focused approach, shipping incrementally with rapid iterations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with web technologies and system design.

Nice to haves:
- Experience with our technical stack: Python, Django, Javascript, Typescript, React, Google Cloud
- Experience with building financial systems: double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, payment systems, card networks, lending products
