Role Overview: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our frontend team, where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the user interfaces that power Coder’s Cloud Development Environment. This role involves creating intuitive and performant web applications that enable developers to interact with cloud development environments and AI coding agents seamlessly.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement modern web applications using React and TypeScript
  • Develop user interfaces that provide excellent developer experience for workspace management
  • Collaborate with backend teams to integrate frontend components with backend services
  • Work on responsive and accessible UI components that work across different devices and browsers
  • Implement features that support AI agent management and monitoring
  • Participate in architectural decisions and code reviews
  • Mentor junior frontend engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Ensure performance and accessibility standards are met across all frontend applications

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of modern JavaScript/ES6+ features
  • Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Context API, Zustand)
  • Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library)
  • Understanding of web performance optimization techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Coder’s open-source platform
  • Knowledge of developer tooling and developer experience principles
  • Familiarity with cloud development environments
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Experience with design systems and component libraries
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications
