About The Role: As a Tax Analyst at Column Tax, you’ll work closely with our engineering team to ensure our tax engine complies with all federal and state tax regulations. You’ll analyze tax laws, verify the accuracy of our calculations, and provide expert guidance to our development team. This role involves bridging the gap between tax expertise and software engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and apply complex federal and state tax laws
• Verify the accuracy of our tax calculation algorithms
• Collaborate with engineers to implement tax rules in our systems
• Develop and maintain test cases for tax scenarios
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation
• Prepare documentation for tax processes and calculations
• Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with tax rules

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in tax preparation or analysis
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes
• Proficiency with tax preparation software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers
• Familiarity with programming concepts is a plus
