Founding AI-Native Engineer

About Concourse:

Concourse is building a marketplace for governments to discover and purchase tech solutions. We are a VC-backed startup based in NYC, and we are in the early stages of building our platform. We are looking for a Founding AI-Native Engineer to join our small team and work onsite in the Flatiron District.

What You'll Do:
*   Lead the development of our AI-powered features that will help government buyers discover and evaluate tech solutions.
*   Build and maintain the backend and frontend components of our platform, leveraging Python, Next.js, and other technologies.
*   Collaborate with our small team to define product vision and roadmap, focusing on creating an intuitive and efficient user experience for both buyers and sellers.
*   Integrate and experiment with AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, and others to enhance our platform's capabilities.
*   Ensure the scalability and reliability of our application as we grow.

What You'll Bring:
*   Proven experience in building AI-native features and working with AI tools.
*   Strong proficiency in Python, Next.js, Tailwind, and FastAPI.
*   Experience with AI/ML tools and frameworks.
*   A track record of building scalable web applications.
*   Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

About the Role:

As a Founding AI-Native Engineer at Concourse, you will be instrumental in building the technical foundation of our platform. You'll leverage your expertise in AI and software engineering to develop features that utilize AI to enhance our marketplace, from intelligent search and recommendations to automated content analysis. Your role will involve not only coding but also defining the technical roadmap, mentoring other engineers, and ensuring our platform is built to last.

Qualifications:
*   5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on building scalable web applications.
*   Proficient in Python, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks like Next.js.
*   Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks for building APIs.
*   Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts and hands-on experience with AI tools and services.
*   Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
*   Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
