Connie Health is a fast-growing Medicare brokerage on a mission to empower older Americans with confidence in their Medicare decisions. We combine AI technology with experienced local agents to simplify healthcare navigation. We are seeking a versatile Backend Engineer to design, build, maintain, and scale our calling infrastructure, enabling seamless communication between Medicare agents and customers.

This is a hybrid role based in our Boston office. You will be part of the Agent Experiences team, responsible for building critical tools that empower our agents to provide exceptional service. Your key responsibilities will include leading the development of our Twilio-based calling infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and call quality. You'll also maintain our existing Five9 and Zoom-based systems, collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define requirements and deliver features, and optimize services for performance, scalability, and security.

To excel in this role, you need significant experience with backend development, particularly with TypeScript, NodeJS, and PostgreSQL. You should have a strong understanding of API design principles and experience building REST APIs. Experience with Twilio is essential, and familiarity with containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS), and testing methodologies is highly valued. A product mindset with the ability to tie technical work to user outcomes is crucial.
