Founding Engineer

**About Coverflow:** Coverflow is transforming the $310B insurance brokerage industry with AI. Founded by Princeton engineers (ex-Amazon, Roblox) with GTM leadership from Chargehound (acq. PayPal for >$200M), we're well capitalized, ramen-profitable, and growing fast. Our AI-powered platform handles policy checking to AMS updates, allowing insurance teams to focus on growing their business.

**Role Overview:** We're seeking a Founding Engineer to join our core team and help build the foundation of our AI-powered insurance platform. As a Founding Engineer, you'll play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of the company and building the systems that power our policy analysis and proposal generation tools. You'll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to shipping production-ready features, with autonomy to make decisions impacting our growth.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and build scalable backend systems for policy analysis and processing
- Develop and integrate machine learning models to extract and interpret policy data
- Collaborate with the frontend team to create intuitive user interfaces for policy analysis and proposal generation
- Implement and maintain the infrastructure that supports our AI models and user workflows
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Innovate on new features and improvements to our platform

**Requirements:**
- 3+ years experience in Python
- Demonstrated experience in building generative AI products
- Experience shipping 0→1 products or features, with proven ability to do rapid prototyping
- Humble, determined, willing to take on any tasks and learn like crazy

**Preferred Skills:**
- Experience building React frontend applications
- Experience provisioning and deploying applications on AWS (e.g. EC2, S3)

**Compensation:**
- $150-200k base
- 1.5-2.5% equity
