Senior Product Engineer (Rails)

Join Doconomy’s mission to future-proof life on Earth with smarter financial tools. We are looking for a seasoned, senior hybrid/remote Rails engineer to help shape and ship products used by banks – and millions of their customers, worldwide.

You’ll join a curious, kind, driven team working across the full stack to build features that drive behavioral change towards sustainability. This is a hands-on role requiring strong Ruby on Rails expertise.

Responsibilities:
*   Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.
*   Develop new features across the full stack for our financial tools.
*   Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software.
*   Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
*   Uphold high standards for code quality, security, and timely delivery, meeting the requirements of financial institutions.
*   Contribute to shaping both product direction and development processes.

Technical Skills:
*   Proven experience as a Senior Ruby on Rails developer.
*   Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
*   Experience with front-end technologies (though the core is Rails, full-stack awareness is needed).
*   Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful APIs.
*   Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications.
*   Experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
*   Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g., Git).

Ideal Candidate:
*   Experienced Rails engineer comfortable with both building new features and maintaining complex systems.
*   Passionate about creating products that have a positive impact.
*   Thrives in a collaborative, hybrid environment.
*   Proactive in improving product and process.
*   Based within +/- 2 hours of European time zones.
