**About the Company:** We are a drone startup building cutting-edge software and hardware solutions. Our team comprises experienced engineers from top companies like Google, Amazon, F1 teams, Darktrace, and Helsing. We are mission-driven, focused on creating real-world impact and solving significant problems using technology. We value practical experience, personal projects, and a passion for problem-solving over theoretical exercises. **About the Role:** As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work alongside Ben Butterworth (tlduck.com) and the engineering team to develop and implement ML solutions for our drone platform. You will focus on areas such as optimizing mission planning, enhancing flight control algorithms, enabling autonomous capabilities, analyzing sensor data, and potentially computer vision tasks for navigation or payload analysis. Your work will directly contribute to our low latency, multi-drone software suite. **Responsibilities:** * Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for drone applications (e.g., autonomy, perception, planning, control, data analysis). * Work with large datasets, including sensor data from drones. * Integrate ML models into our existing software stack (Python, FastAPI, asyncio, potentially interacting with React/Node frontend). * Collaborate with software and hardware teams to define requirements and integrate solutions. * Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ML, particularly in robotics, computer vision, and real-time systems. * Ensure models are efficient and suitable for real-time or near-real-time deployment. **Ideal Candidate:** * Holds UNITED KINGDOM citizenship. * Based in or willing to relocate to London, UK (Hybrid: 2 days/week in office required). * Strong background in Machine Learning, AI, and relevant programming languages (especially Python). * Experience with common ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and MLOps practices. * Familiarity with real-time systems, robotics, computer vision, or sensor fusion is highly desirable. * Experience working with geospatial data or drone technology is a plus. * Proficiency with our backend stack (Python, FastAPI, asyncio, Postgres) is advantageous. * Mission-driven and passionate about applying ML to solve real-world challenges. * Demonstrated ability through personal projects, research, or relevant hobbies is highly valued.
