Role: As a Platform Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical foundation of our cybersecurity SaaS platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a scalable, reliable, and secure platform architecture that supports the development, deployment, and operation of our products and services. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and software architecture principles, as well as a passion for creating elegant and efficient solutions to complex technical challenges. Responsibilities: Platform Architecture Design: Design and implement a scalable, high-performance platform architecture that meets the evolving needs of our cybersecurity SaaS applications. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools for the platform, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, reliability, and security. Create and maintain architectural blueprints, diagrams, and documentation to communicate the platform design to stakeholders. Platform Engineering: Collaborate with development teams to ensure the platform meets their needs and supports efficient development and deployment processes. Develop and maintain core platform components and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve platform issues. Scalability and Performance Optimization: Design and implement strategies to ensure the platform can scale to meet growing demand. Optimize platform performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks. Evaluate and implement new technologies and techniques to improve scalability and performance. Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect the platform and its data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards. Conduct regular security reviews and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks. Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure the platform aligns with overall company goals and objectives. Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers on platform architecture, design patterns, and best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, distributed systems, and cybersecurity. Design & code our next-gen SaaS platform (GCP + K8s). Own scalability, reliability, security from day 1. Technical Skills: Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices. Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash). Expertise in network protocols, security protocols, and system administration. Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and distributed systems. Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes). Cloud Infrastructure: Expert: Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Software Architecture and Design: Expert: Microservices architecture, domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architecture (EDA), API design (REST, GraphQL). Containerization and Orchestration: Expert: Docker, Kubernetes. Programming and Scripting: Proficient: Go (Golang), Python, Bash. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expert: Terraform. Security: Proficient: Security best practices for cloud infrastructure, application security (OWASP Top 10), network security, identity and access management. Monitoring and Observability: Proficient: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack. Ideal Candidate: 7 + yrs distributed-systems / cloud architecture. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast paced environment, operate gracefully under stress, effectively manage multiple assignments, be self driven, proactive, with have great interpersonal and communication skills and be willing and able to roll up their sleeves and actively participate in coding and implementation during critical project milestones. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Well-versed in use of AI to assist their existing deep experience in SWE to accelerate design, administration and implementation.
