About Elide: Elide is a fast, batteries-included, polyglot runtime that allows developers to run multiple languages including Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python. It is built on GraalVM and is designed to be extremely fast and secure. Elide is in beta and is being developed by a passionate team of contributors.

About the Role: We are seeking a talented Rust Developer to join our team at Elide. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the Rust-based components of our runtime. You will work in a dynamic environment with a team of experts passionate about pushing the boundaries of what a runtime can do. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge project and help shape the future of polyglot programming.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Rust-based features for Elide, ensuring seamless integration with other languages
• Optimize the runtime for Rust code execution, focusing on performance and memory usage
• Collaborate with the engineering team to define and implement new features and improvements
• Write and maintain high-quality, testable code that adheres to our architectural standards
• Troubleshoot and debug issues related to Rust execution within the Elide runtime
• Contribute to the documentation and user guides for the Rust language support

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Rust development with a strong foundation in systems programming
• Deep understanding of the Rust ecosystem, including its standard library and ecosystem tools
• Familiarity with GraalVM and its capabilities, particularly in the context of running Rust code
• Experience with polyglot programming and interoperability between languages
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems and runtime environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex systems
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
