Enveritas is a 501(c)3 non-profit working on sustainability issues facing coffee farmers around the globe. Our mission is to improve the livelihoods of coffee farmers worldwide by gathering data about their social, economic, and environmental practices and using insights to guide investments. The Engineering & Data Group creates the products and tools that allow our Country Ops Teams to gather and review data and enable our Partnerships and Impact Groups to communicate insights. We build and manage platforms for survey authoring, data collection, data processing, data aggregation, and insight delivery. We use modern development practices (React, Python/Postgres, GraphQL, AWS), run on GitHub, and use CI/CD. As a UX Product Designer / Engineer, you will join the Engineering & Data Group, likely working closely with the Data Collection Team. This team builds survey management and deployment software (Jebena, Point Dropper, Enveritas App) used by our global operations teams. Responsibilities include understanding user needs (working with Product Managers and users), designing UX flows, creating visual designs and prototypes (using tools like Figma, Balsamiq, Miro), implementing UI components (likely in React), and collaborating with frontend engineers (React), backend engineers, and other designers. The role involves shaping projects from pre-delivery stages, focusing on user-centered design for complex data collection and visualization tools. We seek a designer with experience in UX research, interaction design, visual design, and ideally some frontend engineering skills (React). Experience designing tools for complex workflows or data visualization is a plus. The ideal candidate is passionate about social impact, comfortable working remotely, collaborates well using tools like Slack and Miro, and is willing to travel to the field occasionally (we strongly believe everyone in our Engineering & Data Group should spend time in the field).
