Epoch AI is a research institute investigating artificial intelligence’s trajectory and societal impact. Our mission is to develop a comprehensive, publicly accessible knowledge base on AI that informs policymakers, industry leaders, and society at large. We strive to achieve both rigour and accessibility in our work, exemplified by projects like our database of AI models, AI trends dashboard, the compute-centric GATE model of AI automation, and the FrontierMath benchmark for advanced mathematical reasoning. Our expertise is demonstrated through research on compute trends, data scarcity, and algorithmic progress.
