We increase ROI for our oil and gas customers by developing bespoke turnkey solutions that are built to last in the harshest of basins. We are a bootstrapped, profitable company of 35 people with no outside investors, allowing us to focus solely on our customers and tackle unique technical challenges. Our mission is to partner with companies to build great technology, particularly in the Measurement While Drilling (MWD) market.

## The Role: Firmware Engineer

We're seeking a bare metal firmware wizard to join our team. You will be instrumental in developing the low-level software that powers our cutting-edge drilling technology. This involves working closely with hardware to create robust and reliable systems operating in demanding environments.

## Responsibilities:

*   Develop firmware for RTOS-based systems, specifically using TI processors (TMS320F28X) and TI's SYS/BIOS operating system.
*   Manipulate bits at a low level using embedded C for precise hardware control.
*   Coax hardware into doing magical things – push the boundaries of what's possible with embedded systems in our domain.
*   Collaborate within a small, agile team with minimal red tape.

## Required Skills & Experience:

*   Proven experience in bare metal firmware development.
*   Strong proficiency in embedded C programming.
*   Experience with RTOS-based systems, ideally TI SYS/BIOS.
*   Familiarity with TI processors, specifically the TMS320F28X family.
*   Deep understanding of low-level hardware interaction and bit manipulation.
*   Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex embedded systems.

## Location:

*   This role is preferably based in Houston, TX (relocation assistance considered).
*   Remote work is a possibility, particularly for long-term candidates outside Houston, and explicitly available for short-term freelance engagements. US Work Authorization preferred, but open to candidates in Canada and Europe.
