Role: Senior Manager, Engineering (Build & Productivity) As the Senior Engineering Manager of Build & Productivity, you will lead and mentor a team of talented engineers focused on optimizing our build platform and local development environment. You will have a direct impact on the productivity and efficiency of the entire engineering organization, enabling them to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities: * Lead and manage a team of engineers dedicated to enhancing the developer experience (build platform, local dev environment). * Empower developers through fast build platforms, intelligent/AI tooling, and streamlined workflows using data-informed decision making. * Own and optimize our current CI/CD system (CircleCI-based) using data to identify bottlenecks. * Define, track, and analyze key metrics (including SLOs) to measure the impact of build/productivity platforms on engineering efficiency and satisfaction. * Create and execute short-term, mid-term, and long-term plans for continuous improvement. * Cultivate a collaborative, high-performing team culture, fostering mentorship and professional development. Technical Skills/Experience: * Proven experience delivering high-impact projects improving productivity for multiple engineering teams using data analysis and experimentation. * Data-driven approach with empathy for developer needs. Experience using data to inform decisions and measure success. * Experience defining, implementing, and tracking SLOs for critical systems. * Strong understanding of CI/CD principles, best practices, and modern tooling (CircleCI, Jenkins, Buildkite, GitHub Actions). * Knowledge of advanced build tools (e.g., Bazel, Gradle). * Hands-on engineering experience is beneficial. * Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Impact: * 6 Months: Improve build times by 20%, identify key bottlenecks in local development. * 12 Months: Establish metrics providing actionable insights into developer productivity. Ideal Candidate: * Experienced engineering leader passionate about developer productivity and tooling. * Strong believer in data-informed decision making. * Skilled in managing and mentoring engineering teams. * Deep understanding of CI/CD and modern software development practices.
