Furtim Modus is a fintech venture focused on electronic trading, based in the New York Tri-State Area/NYC Metro Area.

We are seeking a talented and driven Java Developer for an exciting part-time opportunity to start, working remotely within the New York Tri-State Area/NYC Metro Area. This role allows you to contribute your skills and expertise to our electronic trading platform in exchange for equity. There is a clear path and opportunity to convert to a full-time/hybrid role, which includes a competitive base compensation of $150k–$200k, full benefits, and a discretionary cash/equity bonus.

Role Description:
You will be responsible for server-side software development for our electronic trading systems. This involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-performance, low-latency Java applications.

Requirements:
*   Proven electronic trading server-side software development experience.
*   Strong programming skills in Core Java 17.
*   General familiarity with fundamental data structures such as sets, hashes, caches, etc.
*   Good understanding of dependency injection/inversion of control and event-driven architecture patterns.
*   Experience implementing automated end-to-end testing.
*   Experience working effectively in an agile development environment.
*   Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
*   Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
*   Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills (Pluses):
*   Experience in Open Source technologies such as Aeron Transport, Aeron Cluster, Aeron Archive, Artio High Performance FIX Gateway, Agrona, or CoinTossX is a significant plus.
*   Experience with the Adaptive Hydra trading platform is a significant plus.
*   Experience with AWS cloud services, particularly EC2 and S3.
*   Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
*   Knowledge of Microservice based architecture principles.
*   Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
*   Familiarity with development and collaboration tools like Github, Jira, Bamboo, Confluence, Maven.
*   Experience with high-performance datastores or messaging systems like AMPS, KDB+, or standard messaging queues (JMS, MQ, Tibco).
