We offer a unique deployment model (self-host on-prem or in your cloud or run in our cloud), a well-designed API-first approach, a relatively mature product, founder-led leadership, and a full-featured free-as-in-beer version. **Role Overview:** As a Senior Application Security Engineer at FusionAuth, you'll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and enforcing security measures to protect our platform. You'll work with our engineering teams to ensure security is integral to our product development lifecycle. This role requires a deep understanding of application security principles and the ability to balance innovation with security. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms - Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing of our product and infrastructure - Collaborate with development teams to enforce secure coding practices - Stay abreast of emerging security threats and vulnerabilities - Develop and maintain security documentation and best practices - Work with customers to address security concerns and provide guidance - Contribute to the design and architecture of new features with security in mind **Required Skills and Qualifications:** - Proven experience in application security, vulnerability assessment, and mitigation - Deep understanding of authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, SAML, OIDC) - Expertise in security technologies and tools (WAF, SIEM, vulnerability scanners) - Strong knowledge of secure coding practices in Java or similar languages - Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Familiarity with database security and secure data handling practices - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex security issues - Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams **Compensation:** The estimated pay range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000.
