Software Engineer - AI Code Generation

Function is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in building native code generation for AI developers. We generate high-performance C++/Rust to power open-source and on-device AI for our customers, ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 1000 companies.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop open-source Python functions that run popular vision models and LLMs
• Write high-performance C++ and Rust code targeting different accelerators (CUDA, Metal, etc.)
• Contribute to our Python-to-C++ compiler
• Explore combinations of these responsibilities

Requirements:

• Proven experience with Python, C++, or Rust
• Understanding of distributed systems and compilers
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Passion for AI and code generation
