Founding Frontend Engineer

Galaxy is building the next generation unified data platform, combining a modern AI-enabled SQL editor with powerful collaboration features. As a Founding Frontend Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the user experience for what promises to be a transformative product in data management.

We’re tackling three major pain points in data work:

1. Queries scattered across Slack snippets, BI folders, Git repos, and Notion pages
2. Endless data requests due to unfindable/trusted queries
3. AI tools lacking full database context

This role requires someone with high agency and velocity to help build a platform that will revolutionize how people work with data. You’ll be joining early in our startup journey to create a product that’s both technically sophisticated and beautifully usable.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining the core UI for our AI-enabled SQL editor
• Implementing collaboration features for data work
• Creating intuitive interfaces for complex data operations
• Working closely with backend and ML teams to ensure seamless integration
• Designing and implementing the overall user experience

We’re looking for someone with:

• 5+ years experience building complex web applications
• Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
• Strong TypeScript skills
• Experience with state management and performance optimization
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and how to integrate them with frontend interfaces
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguity
