About Galaxy:
Galaxy is building the Cursor for SQL querying - a unified data platform for developers to write, generate, share, and visualize queries, moving beyond outdated tools like DBeaver and DataGrip. Our vision combines AI assistance (Cursor), query management (Postman), sleek UI (Linear), and shareability (Notion). We're creating the future of how companies interact with data, including "data visualization that doesn’t suck".

Role Description:
We are seeking a talented Founding Front End Visualization Engineer to design and build the user interface and data visualization capabilities of Galaxy. You will own the front-end experience, crafting an intuitive, beautiful, and highly functional platform inspired by the best-in-class UIs like Linear. A key focus will be developing compelling and interactive ways to visualize SQL query results and database schemas.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the core front-end architecture and user interface for the Galaxy platform using modern web technologies (e.g., React, Vue, Svelte, TypeScript).
- Develop rich, interactive data visualization components (charts, graphs, tables) using libraries like D3.js, Plotly, or similar.
- Collaborate closely with the founding team to translate product requirements and design mockups into high-quality, performant front-end code.
- Ensure a consistent, responsive, and accessible user experience across different browsers and devices.
- Champion best practices for front-end development, testing, and performance.

Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience building complex, data-intensive web applications with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte, etc.) and TypeScript.
- Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Demonstrable experience creating interactive data visualizations using libraries like D3.js, Plotly, Chart.js, etc.
- A keen eye for UI/UX design and a passion for building beautiful, intuitive interfaces.
- Familiarity with developer tools, SQL, and database concepts is a plus.
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership and drive projects in an early-stage startup environment.
