Role Description:
We are seeking a versatile and talented Founding Product Engineer to join our core team and play a crucial role in building the Galaxy platform from the ground up. As a product-minded engineer, you will work across the stack to design, implement, and iterate on key features that define the user experience for developers interacting with their data. This includes saved queries, collaboration features, version control, integrations, core querying enhancements, and potentially contributing to both front-end and back-end systems.

Responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, and deploy core features of the Galaxy platform.
- Work across the technical stack (potentially including front-end, back-end, databases, infrastructure) as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the founding team to understand user needs, define product roadmap, and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy.
- Help shape the engineering culture and processes at an early-stage startup.

Ideal Candidate:
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and proven experience building and shipping web applications or software products.
- Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Go, Java).
- Experience with web frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, Django, Rails) and databases (SQL is essential).
- A strong product sense and passion for building tools that developers love.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle ambiguous challenges.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
- Experience with developer tools, data platforms, or AI/ML is a plus.
