Senior/Staff Backend Engineer

GoGoGrandparent is a YC S16 backed, profitable, and fast-growing startup providing a concierge service for seniors’ rides, meals, meds, home, and more. We help older adults and people with disabilities maintain independence. We have 8-figure revenue and are growing fast.

We are looking for experienced Senior or Staff Backend Engineers to build high-quality, robust engineering solutions. You will work on the core backend systems that power our services, ensuring scalability and reliability. This role offers a significant opportunity to impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of seniors across the US and Canada. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and Typescript.
- Work with MySQL databases, designing schemas and optimizing queries.
- Implement and manage RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints.
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers in a remote setting.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability through testing and code reviews.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology choices.
- Participate in our 2-stage interview process.

Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and Typescript.
- Experience with MySQL and designing RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker, and Kubernetes (K8s).
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team with 4+ hours overlap with mainland US working hours (US or UK based preferred).
- Passion for building products that help older adults and people with disabilities.
