python react nextjs kubernetes gcp postgres bigquery fullstack energy ml forecasting battery storage risk mitigation Full Stack Engineer
Company: Gridmatic
Gridmatic uses ML and weather data to forecast energy prices in the US, which can get really volatile as extreme weather becomes more common with climate change. We’ve been using those price forecasts to e.g. optimize very large batteries, which help make the grid more stable. Our goal is to help accelerate the adoption of renewable energy on the grid. It's super interesting, the team is incredibly smart, and we're profitable.

Role: Senior Fullstack Software Engineer
We're building tools to apply our forecasts to automated battery storage optimization and energy volatility risk mitigation. You will be working across the stack to develop user interfaces, APIs, and data pipelines for these critical tools.

Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications and services.
- Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to integrate energy forecasts.
- Develop user interfaces using React/Next.js.
- Build backend services and APIs using Python.
- Work with databases like PostgreSQL and BigQuery.
- Deploy and manage applications on GCP using Kubernetes.

Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with Python.
- Proficiency in React/Next.js and modern frontend development.
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and data warehouses (BigQuery).

Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about renewable energy and climate technology.
- Proven track record of building complex fullstack applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
