Software Engineer (Backend)

About Ground Signal: Ground Signal revolutionizes the beverage alcohol industry with AI-powered analytics. As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll build and scale our data processing infrastructure that handles billions of records daily. You’ll design and implement backend services using Python, optimize database performance with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, and integrate dbt for data transformation. This role requires strong expertise in backend development and a passion for solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
• Build and optimize data processing pipelines for high-throughput systems
• Develop and maintain database schemas using PostgreSQL and ClickHouse
• Integrate dbt for data transformation and analysis
• Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to implement requirements
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer (8+ years preferred)
• Mastery of Python (3.x)
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse)
• Knowledge of data processing and ETL pipelines
• Familiarity with dbt for data transformation
• Understanding of distributed systems and RESTful APIs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
