Hex Trust, a fully-licensed and insured digital asset custodian, is seeking an experienced Engineer, SRE to join their new team in Europe. The company, led by veteran banking technologists and award-winning financial services experts, has built Hex Safe, a proprietary bank-grade platform that delivers solutions for digital asset protocols, foundations, financial institutions, and the Web3 ecosystem. While Hex Trust is APAC based with offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Italy, and Vietnam, this role is for a remote position within Europe, specifically targeting candidates in Italy, Spain, Portugal, or Greece. Role Summary: As an SRE Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring Hex Trust's digital asset custody technology stack to ensure its 24x7 operational status, stability, and sufficient capacity. A key part of your role will involve providing timely root cause analysis of platform and application incidents, coordinating with key resources to quickly restore normal operations. You will also be instrumental in building automated solutions for complex operational problems, utilizing industry best practices and cloud-native technologies. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying innovative solutions for operational excellence, and close coordination with development, operations, and the wider platform team to continually improve system availability, security, performance, and maintainability. Duties & Responsibilities: * Ensure continuous, scalable and robust operation of production environments. * Collaborate closely with development teams in a fast-paced delivery environment to foster the SRE mindset as part of the software development process. * Codify and rollout shared tooling and processes/services to enable development teams to continuously deliver new features while improving non-functional requirements such as system availability, security, performance, and maintainability. * Work with development and DevOps to ensure the appropriate level of component redundancy and infrastructure capacity is in place. * Proactively analyze events and provide ongoing recommendations to incorporate process improvements to prevent service impacting incidents. * Manage Level 1 through to Level 3 production support. * Participate in Blockchain node upgrades, management and deployments. Technical Skills & Requirements: Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in SRE or Production Support, ideally within the financial industry or managing business-critical systems requiring 99.9% uptime. A proven background in hands-on production/application support is essential. * Expert proficiency in Linux, Shell Scripting, Monitoring, and Instrumentation tools. * Comfortable working with developer tools such as GIT, JIRA, and Notion. * Familiarity with Node.js, MariaDB/MySQL, and managing automated build/deployment pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Ansible). * Familiarity with Kubernetes clusters. * A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related subjects is required. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills and is a confident communicator. The ability to work independently and comfortably manage tight schedules is crucial. Excellent communication skills in English are a must. While not strictly required, an interest or knowledge with blockchain is a significant plus.
