About The Role: We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to help us build scalable backend systems on AWS using modern serverless technologies. You’ll work with our team to design and implement cloud infrastructure using Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, EventBridge, and more. This role involves building serverless applications, integrating AI services (like OpenAI and Bedrock), and helping define our engineering culture alongside our CTO and founding team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems on AWS using serverless architecture
• Build and maintain APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
• Integrate AI/ML services into our platform to enhance functionality
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define requirements and implement solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and industry best practices

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience building serverless systems on AWS
• Fluency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Deep understanding of serverless architecture and event-driven systems
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, EventBridge)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into applications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex distributed systems

• A proven track record of building scalable cloud infrastructure
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable code
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Understanding of security best practices for cloud environments
