Typescript Engineer

About InstantDB:

InstantDB is a YC-backed startup building a modern Firebase alternative. We provide a real-time database for the browser, allowing developers to build live apps quickly. We're looking for a talented Typescript Engineer to help build the best type system for our database and improve the developer experience. This role will involve working on our client SDKs, CLI tool, and web GUI, all written in TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement the type system for our real-time database
* Improve developer experience through better tooling and documentation
* Collaborate with our Clojure backend team to ensure seamless integration
* Optimize performance and scalability of our TypeScript codebase
* Contribute to our open-source projects and community engagement

Required Skills:
* Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
* Strong understanding of type systems and static typing
* Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
* Experience with database interactions and API design

Ideal Candidate:
* 3+ years of experience as a software engineer
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
* Passion for building developer tools and improving developer experience
* Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
* Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
* Familiarity with Clojure or functional programming concepts
* Experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure
* Understanding of real-time applications and database concepts
