Our mission is to resist online surveillance by providing a trustworthy VPN service. **About The Role:** We are looking for an experienced System and Network Administrator to maintain and scale our high-performance network of VPN servers and related infrastructure. This is a fully remote position with a high degree of autonomy, offering maximum freedom and minimum meetings. The ideal candidate thrives in this type of environment and values focused work without unnecessary bureaucracy. **Key Responsibilities:** - Maintain and ensure the high availability of our network of hundreds of servers, including VPN gateways - Interface with ISPs to resolve upstream network issues - Provide tier 2 and 3 support to our customer support team for infrastructure-related issues - Consolidate infrastructure, unify monitoring, and align operational practices across the business - Address urgent issues beyond normal working hours when needed - Occasionally troubleshoot complex technical problems **Requirements:** - 5+ years experience managing Linux servers, including bare-metal administration - Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS and other Internet protocols - Experience working with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Salt - 5+ years experience with Python, Go or other scripting languages - Understanding and interest in information security, specifically public key cryptography, firewalls and Linux server hardening - Ability to thrive in a fully remote environment with minimal supervision - Must reside in a timezone between UTC-1 and UTC+3
