Senior Frontend Engineer

Overview

JotPsych is building the first AI‑first electronic health record for behavioral health. The team is post‑revenue, seed‑stage, and backed by Base10. We are looking for a senior frontend engineer to join the founding core of the product team and help shape the user‑facing experience of our AI‑driven note‑taking platform.

Role – Frontend Engineer (Founding Core)

You will own the user‑facing layer of JotPsych, turning complex AI workflows into clear, approachable interfaces. You will work on:

• Note Editor 2.0 – inline AI suggestions, smart snippets, and keyboard‑first interactions.
• Patient Workspace – a flexible dashboard that adapts to different clinical roles.
• Interactive Onboarding – progressive feature reveal, progress tracking, and contextual tips.
• Billing & Prescription Flows – streamlined UIs that reduce paperwork time.
• Performance & Observability – metrics, Sentry tracing, and performance budgets baked into the UI.

Possible Early Epics (first 6 months)

• Real‑time Streaming Editor – handle live LLM output with optimistic updates and conflict resolution.
• Customizable Layout Engine – drag‑and‑drop widgets that persist across sessions and devices.
• Mobile‑ready Visit Recorder – lightweight interface for quick notes and recordings on the go.

Ideal Candidate / Requirements

• 6 + years of professional frontend experience, 3 + years with React and TypeScript.
• Strong with Redux Toolkit (RTK) and RTK Query, comfortable reasoning about client‑side caching and invalidation.
• Skilled at translating Figma mocks into production‑ready code with thoughtful interactions.
• Passionate about accessibility, performance, and clear design documentation.
• Experience with automated testing using React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Bonus: hands‑on experience with MediaRecorder, Web Audio APIs, Service Workers, or building a Chrome extension (or a willingness to learn quickly).

• React, TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, MUI, Figma, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, MediaRecorder, Web Audio.

Compensation

• Cash ≈ $150‑250 k
• Material equity ≈ 0.75 %

Location & Work Model

• Hybrid (DC Area) – remote work with regular on‑site visits to the Washington, DC headquarters (twice per month for the first 3 months, then once per month).
