JustWatch is seeking a Senior Frontend / Fullstack Engineer to join their team in Berlin. The team values constant learning, delivering results, and creating value.\n\nAbout the Role:\nYou will be joining the Frontend team as a Senior Frontend / Fullstack Engineer. The main site is built with a modern stack including Vue.js, Node.js, and GraphQL, with a Go + Kubernetes backend. This role involves creating, architecting, and designing many of the underlying systems. A key focus will be on improving and maintaining the performance of the site, which requires a deep understanding of the JS framework, down to the caching setup and communication with multiple in-house services. You will take full ownership of your tasks, bringing them to the finish line, and are encouraged to pursue side projects vital for the project's development. If you believe something could and should be done, you have the autonomy to initiate it.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n* Create, architect, and design underlying systems for a high-traffic website.\n* Improve and maintain site performance, encompassing JS framework optimization, caching, and inter-service communication.\n* Take full ownership of tasks from conception to completion.\n* Initiate and drive impactful side projects.\n* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including other Frontend Developers, Backend Developers, and Product Managers.\n\nTechnical Skills and Experience Required:\n* 4+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in the context of a high-traffic website with a substantial user base.\n* Solid experience with a modern JS framework (Vue.js preferred), TypeScript, Webpack & Vite.\n* Proficiency in performance monitoring and improvements, including knowledge of best practices for core web vitals and SEO.\n* Familiarity with Node.js and GraphQL for SSR web applications.\n* Understanding of backend architecture principles, ideally with Go and Kubernetes.\n* Experience with React Native for mobile app development is a plus.\n\nIdeal Candidate Profile:\n* Possesses a hands-on mentality and a tendency towards action.\n* Demonstrates curiosity, drive, and passion for learning and challenging the status quo.\n* Has an entrepreneurial spirit or experience with a side project/startup (in-development or live).\n* Describes themselves as hard-working, capable of learning through chaotic action, and focused on creation.\n* Fluent in English.\n* Values constant learning, delivering results, and creating value.\n* While a direct 1:1 skill and experience match isn't a strict requirement, attitude, values, and personality are highly regarded. An enjoyment of film and media is also a plus.
