Engineering Manager

We empower B2B companies across HR Tech, Fintech, Benefits, and more to seamlessly integrate with their customers' HR tools, streamlining processes like employee provisioning, data sync, and compliance. **The Role:**

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead one of our product squads. This is a key role in scaling our engineering organization as we continue our rapid growth. You will be responsible for managing a team of talented engineers, fostering a positive and productive culture, driving project execution, and contributing to the technical direction of our unified API platform. This role is based in our Berlin office, with flexibility.

**Responsibilities:**

*   Manage, mentor, and support a team of software engineers, guiding their technical and professional growth.
*   Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality features and improvements for your squad's domain within the Kombo API.
*   Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define roadmaps, set priorities, and ensure alignment.
*   Champion engineering best practices, ensuring high standards of code quality, system reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
*   Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
*   Help recruit, onboard, and retain engineering talent.
*   Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team environment.

**Ideal Candidate:**

*   Proven experience managing and leading software engineering teams, ideally in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment.
*   Strong technical background, likely in backend or full-stack development, with experience building and scaling complex systems. Experience with APIs, integrations, or HR tech is a significant plus.
*   Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
*   Ability to balance technical depth with effective people management and mentorship.
*   Passionate about building high-quality products, solving challenging technical problems, and fostering a positive team culture.
*   Experience working in an agile environment.
