Our mission is to create sustainable and efficient transportation solutions through innovative electric vehicle technology. **About The Role:** We are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team and take ownership of firmware development for connected vehicle systems, battery management systems, and infotainment. This role is critical to the success of our product launch and the long-term growth of the company. You will be part of an established team with deep experience in the EV industry, and your contributions will directly impact the software and hardware stack of our vehicles. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead the design and development of firmware for connected vehicle systems, battery management systems (BMS), and infotainment solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to define and implement the embedded software architecture. - Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of firmware in real-world operating conditions. - Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to validate firmware functionality and ensure high code quality. - Contribute to the definition of best practices and standards for firmware development within the company. - Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to firmware performance and stability. - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in embedded systems, automotive electronics, and firmware technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems. **Required Skills and Ideal Candidate:** - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - At least 5+ years of experience in firmware development for embedded systems, with a focus on automotive or industrial applications. - Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript. - Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or Linux. - Deep understanding of microcontroller architectures and peripheral interfaces (e.g., CAN bus, SPI, I2C). - Strong knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) including state-of-charge (SoC) and state-of-health (SoH) estimation algorithms. - Experience with vehicle networking protocols such as CAN, LIN, or Ethernet AVB. - Familiarity with development tools and environments for automotive-grade firmware (e.g., AUTOSAR, CANoe/CANalyzer). - Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex system issues. - Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in agile development environments. **Compensation:** The estimated pay range for this role is $150,000 - $220,000. In addition to a competitive salary, this role includes comprehensive benefits, stock options, and a supportive work environment. **Location:** This role is offered as a Hybrid position, allowing for a combination of remote work and occasional on-site presence in our Los Angeles office.
