Senior Backend Engineer

Role Overview: As a Senior Backend Engineer at Modash, you’ll own projects end-to-end, from idea to launch, building the technical foundation for our platform. You’ll work on big, impactful projects like building a creator search engine indexing 350M+ influencer profiles and creating systems to extract audience demographics from raw social data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and nurture effective partnerships across engineering, product, and security teams
• Lead and conduct design reviews for critical projects with a focus on system-level tradeoffs and network scalability
• Drive the design and implementation of “secure by default” network systems in collaboration with security teams
• Act as a key stakeholder by engaging with customers and internal teams to understand business requirements
• Co-author long-term technical roadmaps that set the vision for network scalability, performance, and engineering velocity
• Own building and optimizing systems that handle massive scale and high availability

Required Skills:

• Proven experience leading complex engineering efforts focused on network traffic management and optimization
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
• Track record of contributing to long-term technical roadmaps and making thoughtful system-level tradeoffs
• At least 8+ years of coding experience in languages like Go, Java, or similar, with strong expertise in writing concurrent and distributed code
• Extensive experience designing and building distributed systems
• Deep expertise in traffic and networking systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term goals

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this role is €60,000 - €140,000. This role is eligible to participate in Modash’s equity plan.
