ModernVivo is seeking their foundational First Engineering Hire (Full Stack) to help build their literature review and study design tooling for life sciences researchers.

**About ModernVivo:**
ModernVivo aims to revolutionize preclinical R&D by providing AI-powered tools that analyze scientific literature for *in vivo* studies. Their software helps researchers accelerate study design, optimize resource efficiency, reduce inefficient animal use, and improve the success rates of drug discovery, while adhering to ethical standards (3Rs). The company is building tools to help researchers accelerate study design, optimize resource efficiency, and fuel translational success with automated data-driven literature reviews.

**Role & Responsibilities:**
As the first engineering hire, you will play a critical role in shaping the product and technical direction. You will be responsible for full-stack development, contributing across the entire platform, from front-end user interfaces built with React and TypeScript to back-end services powered by Python and potentially Django. You will work closely with the founding team to build, test, and deploy new features for their core software, focusing on creating an intuitive user interface and robust backend systems.

**Technical Skills Required:**
*   Proficiency in TypeScript and React for front-end development.
*   Proficiency in Python for back-end development.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
*   Strong proficiency in Django framework.
*   Experience with UI/UX design principles and implementation, contributing to an effortless user experience.
*   Experience working in or understanding of the life sciences/biotech domain is a plus.

**Ideal Candidate:**
*   An experienced engineer comfortable working across the full stack in a fast-paced startup environment.
*   Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects from conception to deployment.
*   Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*   Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team.
*   Based in Seattle, WA (strongly preferred), but exceptional remote candidates will be considered.
*   Generally not seeking recent graduates unless they possess exceptional, relevant experience.
